We had the great opportunity yesterday to attend the Cairns Post G20 Luncheon at the Pullman Reef Casino. The topic of discussion was how local businesses can “Open their Eyes to the World” and expand their horizons beyond our local market.
Many VIPS were in attendance including Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch, and we were very fortunate to be sitting beside Senator Jan McLucas, and State Member for Mulgrave Curtis Pitt MP.
What an inspirational group of speakers who foresee great things on the horizon for the future of Cairns and local businesses to take their businesses and dreams to the next level. These speakers included: CEO of Paleo Cafe: Jai Hobbs, Managing Director of Tong Sing: Ron Tong, Director of Destination Content for TTNQ: Kate Duffy, General Manager of North Queensland Airports: Fiona Ward, Vice President & Chancellor of James Cook University: Professor Sandra Harding, Owner/Manager of Yungura Nursery: Peter Radke, Managing Director of Smart Staff International: Dave Thomson, and Managing Director for Hinterland Aviation : Mark Dorward.
One message that kept ringing true again and again throughout the luncheon was to keep your focus simple and focus on what you’re good at.
Victor Perton, Senior G20 advisor said that leaders from around the world who are in Cairns for the meeting are here to focus on growth and resilience in each of their respective nations.
We are excited thinking about what this means for our own community and business here in Cairns with the international recognition of this G20 meeting around the world.
This ties in nicely with the birth of our latest project: The Australian Wedding Capital: www.australianweddingcapital.com, a newly launched website that acts a hub of Tropical North Queensland’s wedding suppliers, home of the webcam at Palm Cove- www.cairnsbeachcam.com and aims at growing this region as Australia’s Wedding Capital both nationally and internationally. We received a lot of positive feedback at this meeting from many local leaders and are looking forward to doing our part to draw more tourists and bridal couples to the Cairns region.
We are currently welcoming new suppliers to the website. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to sign up today.
There is so much opportunity for growth and expansion in our beautiful tropical location and it has been predicted that our population will grow to 400,000 by the year 2050.
